Pre-Purchase Assessments

Buying a home or land is one of the biggest financial decisions made in a lifetime.  It is important to be sure that you are making the best investment for what you are wanting to accomplish.  As landowners ourselves, we know that purchasing that perfect piece of land or urban homestead-to-be can be a daunting task. There are so many elements to consider when it comes to knowing whether a particular site is going to suit your needs and visions. This is why we like to offer pre-purchase site assessments. We have spent a lot of time observing, planting, digging, sawing, and otherwise mucking around on land throughout the West Coast, and are happy to be able to offer advice to prospective landowners about the feasibility, potential challenges, and likely opportunities a site may have to offer.

A pre-purchase assessment usually takes from 4-8 hours (may vary with property size), and includes a typed report of observations and recommendations.

General Land Assessment

Resilience Permaculture Design can help match up your visions and desires with the ecological dynamics of your site, and offer practical advice on implementation of various systems, including infrastructure development and placement decisions, plant and wildlife surveys, water catchment systems, forestry and agroforestry development, and social/financial systems.

Forest Stewardship Planning

Owners of forest land within the state of Oregon may apply for up to 3/4 cost share assistance through the Oregon Department of Forestry for the assessment and development of management plans for their site.  Click here to see ODF’s description of this program.

As participating consultants in this program, we specialize in agroforestry uses including livestock and non-timber crop integration in forestry systems, water resource planning, and woodland restoration for forest lands.
